This is Five Minute Friday episode number 82: Data Science Go.
Welcome back to the SuperDataScience podcast. And today we’ve got a very exciting episode because we are announcing that for the first time ever, we are going to be running our own live event. Exactly. How cool is that? I hope you’re excited, as excited as I am. We’ve put a lot of work into this, and we’re still putting in tons, and we’ve got a lot to do, but it’s all on track. It’s going to be happening in November in San Diego, and the event is going to be called “Data Science Go.” So in this quick episode, I wanted to give you some background about what gave us the motivation to do this, to sign up for such a huge undertaking, and what the event is going to be all about. And then we should tell you how you can become part of this and participate.
So a while back, my business partner Hadelin and I were at a conference, and the conference was great, we learned a lot, and met a lot of new people. But at the same time, we saw that something was missing, that there was something that people wanted which wasn’t available, not just at that conference, but not at any other conference on data science. And the way normally data science conferences work is that you get a lot of technical information. You get to network, you get updates on the latest technology in data and algorithms and stuff like that, and tools. But what we wanted to create, what we see that people actually need, is a conference where you can build your career, where you can find tips, hacks, and inspiration on how to create the most successful career for yourself that you possibly can. And that is exactly what Data Science Go is all about.
We’ve invited some of the most inspirational and successful data scientists that we know, such as Ben Taylor, Dan Shiebler, Nick Cepeda, Andy Kriebel, and many, many more. And we’re going to be focusing not just on the data science techniques and tools, but how to become the top data scientist, how to build a successful career in that field within data science that you are most passionate about. They will show you how they have succeeded, how they have built what they have today, and they’ll give you their tips, hacks, best practices, and ideas and motivation and inspiration on how to progress forward.
So whether you’re looking for a job in data science, or whether you already have a career in data science, or you’re looking to transition into data science, this will help you grow, this will help you either find a job or grow in your current job, bring more value to your employer, bring more value to your company, come up with absolutely new creative and innovative ways to do data science and to deliver on that promise of data science to make the world a better place through the power of data.
So if want to find out more, if you want to participate, then head on over to www.datasciencego.com. Right now the early bird offers are still open, so you can get in at the early bird prices. They will close tonight at midnight, New York time on Friday. So check that out if you’re interested. And the only drawback is that since it’s our very first event, we had to limit it in size, and therefore there’s only 200 seats available. So if you’re interested, then make sure to act fast, because the seats are selling out very quickly. And we can’t wait to see you in San Diego. This is going to be November 10, 11, 12. So if you’re free and you can get there, we would love to see you there, we would love to inspire you to have a successful career in data science and truly be passionate and love what you’re doing. And I look forward to seeing you there. Until next time, happy analyzing.
