(00:05):
This is Five-Minute Friday with a ChatGPT Holiday Greeting.

(00:27):
Welcome to the SuperDataScience Podcast! Last year, for a Five-Minute Friday at this time of year, I provided a holiday greeting. This year, the sensational natural-language generating conversational algorithm ChatGPT scripted the holiday greeting for me.
(00:45):
ChatGPT was released to the public on November 30th by OpenAI and has been making regular mainstream-media headlines since. If you haven’t had a conversation with ChatGPT yet, I couldn’t recommend it more highly and we’ve included a link in the show notes. It’s free to use; all you need to do is create a free OpenAI account.
(01:05):
Previous related algorithms like GPT-3 were capable of stringing together remarkable human-like text over several sentences. ChatGPT is a major major advancement in that it can generate compelling, highly contextualized human-like text, not just over several sentences but over several paragraphs. As the ”chat” GPT name suggests, you can also engage in dialog with ChatGPT and it will typically respond mind-blowingly sensibly while taking into account all of the key aspects of the conversation you’ve had together so far.
(01:43):
So, for today’s episode, I provided ChatGPT with the following prompt: Your name is Jon Krohn. You are the host of a podcast called SuperDataScience that covers the latest trends in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Write the script for a special holiday season episode, in which you provide a holiday greeting.
(02:02):
Ok, got it? That’s the prompt I gave it, pretty simple. From the sound of the bell that’s coming up, through to the very end of this episode, I’ll simply read ChatGPT’s response verbatim. And yes, this is the first response ChatGPT provided, I didn’t give it multiple chances and I didn’t edit a single character. All right, you ready? I think you’ll find this to be spot-on perfect, here we go:
(02:29):
Hello and happy holiday season! I’m Jon Krohn, and I’m the host of the SuperDataScience podcast.
(02:35):
In this special holiday episode, I want to take a moment to wish all of our listeners a happy and healthy holiday season.
(02:42):
As we look back on the past year, we’ve seen so many incredible advancements in the fields of data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. It’s been an exciting year to be a part of this community, and I’m grateful to be able to share my passion for these technologies with all of you.
(02:57):
As we head into the new year, I’m looking forward to what the future holds for our community. I’m confident that we will continue to see amazing innovations and breakthroughs in the world of data science and AI, and I’m excited to see where our collective curiosity and hard work will take us.
(03:13):
