“AI is advancing too fast. How do I stay relevant?”
Senior Engineers ask me this question every week. My answer:
CHANGE = GOOD.
Without change you would struggle to stand out. Look at accounting — that profession has been established for centuries (literally, modern accounting started in the 1800s). It’s so structured that in order to “make it” as an accountant you have little choice but to climb the career ladder step by step.
Constant, fast-paced change means that HARD WORK pays off. If you’re willing to put in the hours to study, practice, build — you WILL be successful. Because others will give up. The longer it is HARD, the better for those who are determined, have grit and enjoy growing.
Extra bonus: right now you’re finding it ESPECIALLY HARD because you’re NOT on the train. Your career is not yet in AI Engineering. You are running to catch this train which is slowly starting to move from the platform. You have to put in EXTRA WORK to jump on this train.
Once you get on this train, it will be easier. Why? Because you will be doing AI Engineering as your profession, so you will be LEARNING AT WORK, not just in your evenings and on weekends. But for now you have to EARN THE RIGHT to be on that train.
CHANGE is a filter.
CHANGE creates CHALLENGE.
CHALLENGE filters out the weak.
Many will GIVE UP.
GOOD.
Earn your right to be on the AI career train.
