As humans, it’s our basic instinct to do everything to survive. We are wired that way. We’re always on the lookout for threats, so we know what action to take. Should you choose to escape for safety or be on full force attack mode? Either way, we always want to predict and remove any danger that poses to our lives.
Since this is the nature of every human’s mind, most of the time, we forget what should be highlighted in our environment. Our intention is always busy being in survival mode every time that we cloud it with too much negativities, worries and doubts. We tend to prioritize monitoring the wrong things since as much as possible we want them to be isolated in a tightly closed box and put far away from us.
It’s true that the environment is ever-changing and we should always be vigilant. But, how about the good stuff? How about the things on the other side of the net? How should we deal with them?
What we don’t notice is we’re now living in a world of abundance… a world where everything is getting better. To prove and to lighten up your day, statistics say child mortality is going down, life expectancy is going up, the number of people living under the poverty line is going down, and technology abundance is going up. These are just a few but significant changes you should take note of.
Let’s start within yourself. What’s the best thing about your life right now? You should be proud of it and be grateful for it. When we focus on that one amazing thing, we start to feel energized to get up in the morning to face the tasks and challenges ahead. It can be whatever you’re doing ranging from your career to your hobbies to your interests.
This is not to say that you should be oblivious and be apathetic to whatever challenge that comes your way. At least with this one amazing thing, there is one bright light that could guide you in this unpredictable world we’re living in.

This is FiveMinuteFriday. What Is Amazing In Your Life right now?
Welcome back to the SuperDataScience Podcast, ladies and gentleman. Super excited to have you on the show today. And today I want to ask you a question. What's amazing in your life right now? A lot of the time, we think about our problems, about our issues, about challenges that we have. And that's just how our brains are designed.
If you look at the media, they're constantly talking about the worst things. They're talking about things that trigger fear, that trigger anxiety, that trigger depression, that trigger doubt, hate of people watching it, because that's how our brains are wired. They're wired towards picking out the negative things, because our brains are wired for survival.
These are million-year-old brains that we have, and our society has evolved a huge ton in the past years. That's just what our brains react to and the media capitalizes on that. They show negativity so that we pay attention so that they can increase their ratings. That's just how we work, and therefore, a lot of the time we focus on the negative.
But in reality, we live in a world of abundance. We live in a world where everything is getting better all the time. Child mortality is going down. Life expectancy is going up. And the number of people living below poverty line is going down. Technological abundance is going up. Education is going up. Number of wars is decreasing. Number of people dying in conflicts is decreasing.
If you look at all of these things, you'll see the world is getting better and better all the time, but we don't notice it because we focus on the negative. The question today is what in your life is super amazing? Take a moment to pause and think about that for a second. What can you actually say in your life, the one thing that is going super, super well? What is that in your life that is amazing? And be proud of it. Be grateful for it.
Once you switch your mindset and not focus on the lots or little or big negative things, but you focus on at least one ... there's probably more ... but pick at least one big amazing thing in your life. Whether it's your health, whether it's your career, it's your relationship, it's your holiday that you just had or it's your kids, it's your sports, it's your hobbies, it's whatever you're doing. Something in your life, whatever it is, that's super amazing. Just think of that, focus on it, and remember that.
We talk about gratitude on this podcast because that's one of the most powerful things. It reciprocates. If you feel grateful, you act gratefully, then that's how your life will be. That one thing that you think of now can be your anchor to think about whenever you feel sad or fear or you feel depressed or you feel lonely. That's that one thing that you can think about, or probably you can even think of many things, but at least one that you can think about that can be the light in your world that will bring you back up and make you strong. And especially if you think about that before going to bed or in the morning, that will help you start your next day with fresh powerful energy.
So there we go. Something to think about this weekend. If you couldn't think of it right away, then maybe observe and see during the weekend what comes up. What is it that is indeed truly amazing in your life? And ask yourself that question often. Ask yourself that question at least three times a week. What is amazing in my life right now?
